Ochsner Health's Cutting-Edge Plan for Super Bowl LIX

Featured Focus: Health & Wellness, Partnerships for Good, Innovation

Scope of Impact: Local

This past February, Super Bowl LIX boasted more than just football prowess; it highlighted healthcare innovation and preparedness, courtesy of Ochsner Health.
Serving as the official medical provider for the New Orleans Super Bowl Host Committee, Ochsner wasn’t content to sit on the sidelines. A dedicated team of medical professionals, disaster-response experts, and public health planners strategized a game plan to keep fans, players, and visitors in prime health condition during the event. Services ranged from managing urgent care clinics to utilizing advanced tech for rapid medical response, with the core mission being to provide for the overall wellness of the city's guests. Dr. Jeffrey Kuo, emergency physician and medical director of emergency management and security at Ochsner Health, highlighted this as an opportunity to serve the community and visitors alike.

Ochsner Health is setting a new standard for health and preparedness at major events by taking a holistic and innovative approach to health care during Super Bowl week for all attendees. They helped deploy cutting-edge technology for rapid medical response at Caesars Superdome, and they’ve donated iPads to the New Orleans Fire Department and automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to the local police. Ochsner Health leveraged their role at the Super Bowl to level-up local health systems, and those improvements will have a community impact far beyond the reach of the big game itself.
