Featured Focus: Athlete-Driven Impact, Education, Social Justice

Scope of Impact: National

Pascal Siakam from the Indiana Pacers and Dakota Whyte, a former pro baller, are putting their game-winning mindset to work off the court with the PS43 Foundation.

The game plan? Empower the youth through education, practical life skills, and mentorship programs.

Siakam started the foundation in tribute to his late father who was all about education. The foundation’s name, PS43, reps Pascal’s jersey number and his tight-knit family. Whyte’s journey to become the foundation's Executive Director all started with a passion for social good. They joined forces to prove that athletes can be key players to create positive social change in their community.

This is so much more than two basketball players getting together for social good. It’s the intersection of industries (sports, apparel, branding) and interests (education, community engagement, philanthropy) that Pascal Siakam and Dakota Whyte bring together that make the work of the PS43 Foundation and this discussion so valuable.

We’re curious to follow how the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and Indiana University can support the expansion of the PS43 Foundation’s impact in Indianapolis, a year after the trade that brought Siakam to the Pacers.
