WHAT IS NILI?
NIL FOR IMPACT, EXPLAINED.
NILi (pronounced “nill-eee”; NIL for Impact®) is a category of NIL compensation in which student-athletes are paid by brand sponsors for social-impact work with vetted nonprofit partners — structured as sponsorable inventory a property can sell.
It's the commercial mechanism behind every activation we run: the same engine that sells endorsements, but pointed at advancing social impact instead of selling products.

NILi
noun · NIL for Impact®
The name we give NIL that does more than pay an athlete to hold a product. Teams and athletes are compensated for showing up in their community — for becoming ambassadors for an issue-space and nonprofit they care about, in a way that brand sponsors are eager to put money behind.
NIL was built to sell “things.” NILi points the same commercial mechanism at advancing social impact.
HOW IT WORKS
Four seats at the table — and every one of them wins.
01
BRANDS FUND IT
A brand sponsor pays a flat fee to activate social impact around a sports property — funding athlete stipends, the nonprofit partner, and the execution.
02
ATHLETES CHAMPION IT
Student-athletes sign compliant NIL contracts, build skills in our hands-on prep workshops, and are compensated for showing up in their community for a nonprofit they care about.
03
NONPROFITS BENEFIT
A vetted nonprofit partner receives direct funding and visibility through their NILi ambassadors social content, with the activation built around real community needs — not a logo drop.
04
PROPERTIES WIN
Athletic departments, pro teams, or tournament operators gain net-new revenue and a category-defining asset, with no out-of-pocket cost or added operational load.
WHO IT’S FOR
One mechanism, four seats at the table.
NILi looks different depending on which side of it you’re sitting on. The structure is the same every time — a brand funds it, athletes carry it, a nonprofit benefits, the property wins — but what you get out of it depends on your seat.
- Brand sponsorsFund the activation and own the story that comes out of it.
- Agencies & operatorsSell it to partners as net-new inventory that didn't exist before.
- Athletic departmentsClose the revenue-sharing gap with no added cost or operational load.
- Pro teamsOpen a sponsorable category the competition doesn't have yet.
NIL FOR IMPACT
Let's break it down.
What does the 'i' in NILi stand for?
Impact. NILi: NIL for Impact is WIN | WIN's name for name, image, and likeness compensation that is tied to social-impact work — athletes paid for championing a cause, not for holding a product.
How is NILi different from regular NIL?
NIL was built to sell things — endorsements, appearances, promotions tied to a brand's product. NILi uses the same structure but adds a vetted nonprofit partner. Instead of paying an athlete to hold a product, a brand pays the athlete to champion a cause, generating content, storytelling, and awareness for the brand, the athlete, and the nonprofit at once.
Are athletes actually paid under NILi?
Yes. Student-athletes sign compliant NIL contracts and receive stipends for their community work. Athletic departments and pro teams carry no cost — the brand sponsor funds the activation, the stipends, and the nonprofit partner.
Is NILi compliant with NCAA and state NIL rules?
Yes. WIN | WIN works with teams, athletic departments, and agencies/operators to make sure all parts of the activation stay within the NIL compliance rules that apply to it.
Who can launch a NILi activation?
Brand sponsors fund most NILi activations. We also work with agencies and operators, athletic departments, and pro teams — pitching NILi as net-new sponsorable inventory their partners can buy. Student-athletes and nonprofit partners are the beneficiaries every activation is built around.
